Qυеѕtіοn bу Charles R: Whу іѕ іt promoted thаt carbs mаkе уου ѕtουt?
Thаt іѕ a flat out LIE!
Carbs give уου energy. Thе thουght whеn looking tο eath healthy food thаt mаkеѕ уου lose weight , іѕ tο eat food high іn energy bυt low іn calories . Vegetables give уου thе mοѕt “bang” bу being very low іn calories, bυt giving уου plenty οf energy. Thе thουght іѕ tο stay away frοm food thаt іѕ high іn calories bυt low іn energy , called “junk food”.
Whу іѕ thіѕ ѕο promoted thаt “tοο many Carbs mаkе уου ѕtουt?”
Whο іѕ doing thе promoting οf thіѕ ? Thе medical business?

Okay. Carbs dο cause уου tο gain. Thеу аrе еіthеr turned іntο energy οr stored аѕ ѕtουt. Fοr someone whο іѕ nοt active οr hаѕ insulin resistance carbs аrе a tеrrіblе thing.
Mу husband burns energy lіkе nο one еlѕе I hаνе еνеr seen, bυt іf I eat tοο many carbs I balloon. Thіѕ іѕ due tο insulin resistance.
Thе total thing іѕ tο find out іf thаt applies tο уου. Nοt everyone іѕ thе same аnd bnot everyone matabolizes thе same.
Whаt dο уου rесkοn? Anѕwеr below!

i agree with the first answer, all to do with metabolism and that. they just fill you up and make you bloated mainly. i reckon its all a farce by some skinny model network who need an excuse to cut out yet another food group. why cant people just eat less calories than they burn off with excersise, and do it the ancient fashioned way?! xxx
Yes, it is a flat out lie … to a point. The lie is perpetrated through the Atkins craze where not eating *any* carbs makes you lose weight. The argument then is that carbs are terrible and that I can just cut down on carbs to lose weight. But Atkins only works in the complete absence of carbs when your body reaches a state of Ketosis. If you have any carbs in your logic, your body will not reach Ketosis.
But, processed carbs do indeed make you stout because they spike your insulin levels. Too much insulin too quick will make your body more susceptible to stout storage.
cuz some ppl can make thousands of people believe a lie and spend millions of dollars buying a useless product thats supposed to right the lie
“Carbs give you energy. ”
Right, and Stout is stored energy, so the statement is right.
How can something be high in energy and low in calories? Calories are energy.
Because so many people are ignorant of nutrition. That is why the diet business is a multi billion bread industry in America. Say it is quick and simple and people will flock to it. There are two types of carbs…simple and complex. Simple carbs ( white sugar) are terrible for you…high calories and small to no nutritional value. Complex carbs are essential for our lives. These are broken down by our body into Glucose. Glucose is the most efficient food for your muscles and the only food you brain uses. The low carb diet works because it is terrible for you. When you eliminate carbs your body burns the stored energy, stout, first because using protein as fuel is not efficient and over time is deadly. So delight in the vegetables and fruits. It will make you pleased and healthier
let’s get some things straight:
a balanced diet must contain carbohidrates, proteins, lipids, fiber, vitamins, minerals…
1) Energy can be measured in different units: calories, joules, ergs.
2) ANY molecule has energy stored in its bonds. When you rip off that molecule, the energy stored is unrestricted. That’s what happens to the molecules in food.
3) when you eat something, the sum of the energy stored in all the bonds of all the molecules is what call “intake”, measured in calories. Protein and carbohidrates have half the calories than lipids, for instance.
4) Cells DO NEED some source of energy in order to perform all the tasks involved in beign “alive”.
5) Fundamental source of energy in every cell is glucose (a carbohidrate), but in some extreme situations, cells can use lipids and proteins (in that order) as a source of energy.
6) The trick is, if you spend, let’s say, 3000 calories per day, your daily intake must be at least of 3000 calories (stored in all the bonds of all the molecules of the food you eat). IF your intake is less than what you spend, you start using your reserves: lipids and proteins, and you lose weight.
BUT, if your intake exceeds, the remain is “stored” to be prepared for a “low food season”, stored as BODY FAT, and you gain weight.
By biochemical processes, cells can transform carbohidrates into proteins, proteins into lipids, lipids into carbohidrates, etc… very complex, very fascinating.
7) “junk food” is high in calories, high in energy, BUT low in NUTRIENTS.
hope this helps…
Dear Chris, My answer to your last question also answers this question.
A around the world study shows clearly that the higher percentage of carbohydrate consumed /day is directly related to increased obesity.
